After almost four years of doggedly pursuing the government to fund a teachers aide for Daniel we are pleased to say that this week we were advised a solution had been found.
Finally after four years there was enough pressure for the government to actually investigate our situation in great detail and realise the uniqueness of the situation for which Daniel finds himself. The result of this investigation is that we now have a fully funded teachers aide for Daniel from now until he finishes High School (The next four years).
Both Penny and I are extremely relieved about the result and can now channel our efforts into raising funds for Daniel’s care instead of just to put him through school.
There is no doubt still a mountain of financial issues we have to overcome however this has provided us with renewed hope and energy.
